Wherever high heat or potential fire is a problem, Unifrax fire protection products offer solutions to a variety of passive fire protection applications when lightweight, thin materials are needed to prevent flame penetration and achieve a significant temperature drop. Materials are lightweight, easy to fabricate and capable of providing protection up to 2300°F.A variety of product forms are used as passive fire protection in commercial and industrial applications including through penetration fire stops, construction joints, fire doors & glazing systems, and kitchen extraction and HVAC duct insulation systems. This product family provides proven systems to meet fire standards and code requirements in the commercial building, marine & offshore, transportation and manufacturing industries.
FyreWrap® Cable Insulation
FyreWrap Cable Insulation is a thin, flexible, insulation wrap designed to provide a fire-protective enclosure around cable trays and conduit. The FyreWrap system ensures electrical circuit integrity during exposure to an external hydrocarbon fire, permitting continued operation or controlled shutdown of critical equipment during emergency conditions. This system is FM Global approved and meets ASTM E-1725 "Fire Tests of Fire-Resistive barrier Systems for Electrical System Components", the newest industry standard, requiring the highest level of performance for trays with zero to full cable loading. The system also meets ASTM E-1529 and provides circuit integrity ratings. FyreWrap complies with API and ExxonMobil specifications on fireproofing for petroleum and petrochemical processing plants.
FyreWrap Cable Insulation products incorporate Insulfrax® Thermal Insulation as its core material. Insulfrax is a high-temperature insulation made from calcia, magnesia, silica chemistry designed to enhance bio-solubility. It provides excellent insulation in a non-combustible blanket form. The core insulation is completely encapsulated in an aluminum foil, fiberglass-reinforced scrim covering. This scrim provides additional handling strength as well as protection from tearing and moisture absorption.

FyreWrap® Blanket
FyreWrap Blanket is a totally inorganic, flexible, high-temperature insulation blanket specifically designed to provide passive fire protection for marine, offshore & other applications. The calcium, magnesium, silicate chemistry is designed to enhance bio-solubility. Unifrax’s proprietary fibre spinning technology combined with mechanical needling of the fibres eliminates the need for binders in the product. This results in a material with high tensile strength and superior thermal and acoustical properties. FyreWrap Blanket is chemically stable and its thermal properties are unaffected after exposure to water immersion or high humidity.
FyreWrap Blanket provides fire protection insulation for a variety of rated assemblies on marine structures and vessels. Thin, lightweight systems combined with a flexible product form results in lower installation costs and significant weight savings. This offers builders and owners reduced structure weight, which may yield increased vessel speed, fuel savings and available payloads. FyreWrap Blanket provides the following products features:

FyreWrap Blanket is utilized to insulate bulkheads and decks on passenger and vehicle fast ferries, cruise ships, commercial and military vessels, and offshore oil platforms. Tested systems are in compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations, now defined under IMO Res. A.754(18). Typical applications include:

Aluminum bulkheads and decks, including extruded thin plate designs (min. 2mm thick)

FyreWrap® Duct Insulation
FyreWrap Duct Insulation provides a comprehensive range of systems tested to USA standards ASTM E-119, UL 1978 and to ISO 6944 for insulation of kitchen extraction and ventilation ducts. The systems comprise bio-soluble Insulfrax Blanket, a high-temperature insulation made from calcia, magnesia, silica chemistry designed to enhance bio-solubility completely encapsulated in an aluminum foil, fiberglass-reinforced scrim covering. This scrim provides additional handling strength as well as protection from tearing and moisture absorption.
The thin and lightweight wrap systems are easy and clean to install around all geometries and orientations of pre-formed metal ducting and can provide fire protection for up to 120 minutes depending upon the system and application.

FyreWrap® IG Tape
Specifically designed for use as a bedding tape in fire resistant glazing systems, FyreWrap IG Tape is available in a variety of widths and thicknesses in rolls 10 metres in length. Each roll has a self adhesive backing which allows for easy and accurate placement and installation.
FyreWrap® G8 Intumescent paper
FyreWrap G8 Intumescent Paper is a new addition to the FyreWrap family of products. Based on the bio-soluble Insulfrax fibre and non-exfoliated graphite this product expands to eight times its original thickness when exposed to a fire. This product is available in flexible roll form and is ideally suited for fire stop and sealing applications and for fire protection of composite structures.
