Chopped Glass Microfibre

Chopped Glass Microfibre from Unifrax is designed as a stabilising additive; our chopped glass microfibres provide unique properties as a reinforcing agent or filler material in rubbers, plastics, paints, adhesives, ceramics and speciality papers. Using a secondary chopping process, glass microfibres are cut to shorten the fibre length in order to improve their incorporation into compounding processes while retaining the fibres’ inorganic, non-combustible properties with a high surface area.

Unifrax Microfine Glass Fibers have the following outstanding characteristics:

  • High specific surface area (SSA)
  • Inorganic, inert and non-combustible filler material
  • Multiple glass compositions: B, C & E-glass
  • Easy acceptance of surface treatments and coupling agents
  • Product grades with average fibre diameters from 0.25μm – 5.0μm
  • Fine-chopped for improved processing
