Fiberfrax® LDS-AL Mouldables consist of Fiberfrax ceramic fibres dispersed in a sticky, water-based refractory binder. These materials have a putty-like consistency, which permits application by caulking, trowelling or hand forming. Both products adhere well to most surfaces. Drying is accomplished at a non-critical, elevated temperature, and the resulting dried material is strong, hard, and erosion-resistant. LDS-AL mouldable possesses excellent resistance to wetting by many non-ferrous molten metals and is used extensively in molten aluminium contact applications.
Fiberfrax LDS AL-Mouldable products also possess the advantages inherent to other Fiberfrax Specialties ceramic fibre insulating materials:
The Fiberfrax® Specialties range of products includes Fiberfrax mouldables, pumpables, caulks, coating cements, rigidisers, tamping mix and Moist-Pack™ blanket.
