Insulfrax® S Blanket for Appliance Design

Appliances Designed Smarter with Unifrax

Consumer, commercial and industrial appliance design engineers need quality, high performance materials for today’s demanding applications. Insulation material becomes critical when designing energy efficient stoves, heaters, boilers and other state-of-the-art equipment and appliances. Unifrax can solve your thermal management challenges, big or small, with a wide range of insulation products and materials.

Our high-performance specialty fibers and inorganic materials are available in a variety of product forms including bulk fiber, board, blankets, paper and microporous materials. Unifrax thermal management products are:

• A durable clean looking white product
• Highly efficient insulators resulting in reduced thickness, weight and cost
• Lightweight, flexible and easy to install or fabricate
• Easy to convert: die-cut / encapsulate / laminate
• Low organic or inorganic product forms available when smoke and odor are a consideration

Pictured is Insulfrax® S Blanket. Insulfrax fiber chemistry has been combined with Unifrax’s proprietary fiber spinning technology to create a specialty high-temperature blanket with superior thermal and mechanical properties.

Insulfrax S Blanket is a flexible, strong, lightweight, needled blanket produced from our latest low bio-persistent Insulfrax fiber. Mechanical needling of the spun Insulfrax fiber eliminates the need for binders in the product’s manufacture and results in a product with high tensile strength. Insulfrax S Blanket is completely inorganic; the product exhibits no smoke generation or outgassing in service.  Insulfrax S Blanket combines low thermal conductivity with good handleability and sound absorption. Note that high humidity and wetting with water prior to service has little effect on Insulfrax S Blanket.
