Unifrax helping to build brighter futures in Western New York

Unifrax has served as an important corporate sponsor and partner with Buffalo Prep for the past several years. Buffalo Prep was founded in 1989 by education and community leaders to help talented underrepresented students prepare for, obtain entrance into, and excel at demanding college preparatory high schools. Students typically begin Buffalo Prep’s rigorous program in fifth grade and commit their summers, evenings, and weekends to prepare for higher achievement. Buffalo Prep students attend many of Western New York’s best private, public, and charter high schools with the financial support necessary to focus on their academics. We’re pleased to announce our partnership with Buffalo Prep is taking another step forward in support of their mission: to ensure students have the opportunity to pursue excellence and success in a community that nurtures their individual talents, goals, and selves.

Beginning in the Fall of 2021, we are pleased to announce a Unifrax scholarship program in partnership with Buffalo Prep to advance underrepresented students in the Buffalo community in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and business. We will be supporting multiple students who are interested in engineering majors such as mechanical, chemical, industrial or materials science, and business students interested in HR, finance/accounting, information technology, and marketing. The scholarship program will include access to Unifrax mentors aligned to the student’s career interest who can serve as a resource for them during the year with any questions, discuss their career path, and offer advice on what it’s like working in the field. A summer internship with Unifrax will also be part of the scholarship program for each student. Buffalo Prep will be administering the Unifrax scholarship program and the process for students to apply.
