Unifrax Launches New Insulfrax® Product with 1300°C Classification

December 10, 2020

Unifrax announced the launch of their latest low bio-persistent product line today:  Insulfrax® 1300 HT Blanket and Insulfrax 1300 HT Anchor-Loc® Modules.  Insulfrax 1300 HT products represent the next generation of low bio-persistent (LBP) thermal insulation from Unifrax. With the addition of Insulfrax 1300 HT fibre products, Unifrax now offers the most comprehensive portfolio in the marketplace for high temperature insulation products.  The new product fills the temperature classification gap between Insulfrax LTX, and Isofrax® 1400.

“We now have a wide range of materials from traditional ceramic fibre (RCF), to low bio-persistent (LBP) products and non-classified polycrystalline materials classified at 1600°C,” explained Trevor Bailey, Senior Director, Commercial Industrial Thermal Management at Unifrax.  “The addition of Insulfrax 1300 HT to our Insulfrax family of calcium magnesium silicate products provides our distributor partners and our customers with a new competitive advantage by offering additional material choices spanning the entire classification and use temperature range required across several industries including petrochemical, steel, and power generation,” said Bailey.

Available in both blanket and Anchor-Loc modules, the outstanding characteristics of Insulfrax 1300 HT fibre include:

  • High temperature stability (up to 1300°C)
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Thermal shock resistance
  • Insulfrax 1300 HT fibre meets the requirements specified under Note Q of European Regulation 1272/2008 and is therefore exonerated from labelling requirements in Europe

Unifrax – a world leader in high performance specialty fibres and inorganic materials used in high temperature industrial, filtration, battery and fire protection applications that save energy, reduce pollution, and improve fire safety – first launched the revolutionary Insulfrax family of products with enhanced solubility in 1993.  Unifrax and its affiliates have 37 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Russia, Asia, South Africa and Latin America and employs approximately 5,000 people worldwide.

“Unifrax is a worldwide company with proven and innovative products. Our technical sales and application engineering teams have the world-class knowledge to solve your most demanding thermal management challenges,” added Trevor Bailey.
