Unifrax Named Manufacturer of the Year

Unifrax was named a winner in the General Excellence Manufacturer of the Year category for the fifth annual Manufacturing Awards, presented by Buffalo Business First, Insyte Consulting, KeyBank and Erie County Industrial Development Agency. The 2018 Manufacturer of the Year Awards honor manufacturing companies in the Western New York area and are given to companies based on information provided to a panel of independent judges who select the winners to be recognized.

Dan Beringer, WNY Plant Manager, Tonawanda, accepted the award on behalf of Unifrax. Ten of our Tonawanda Unifrax employees attended the awards breakfast held to honor and celebrate all the Manufacturing Award winners at Salvatore’s Restaurant on Tuesday. Our winning Unifrax nomination cited our outstanding growth in the WNY area over the last 20 years, averaging greater than 10% per year, transforming us from a North American thermal management business to a global leader in developing specialty fiber materials and innovative solutions that solve our customers’ thermal management challenges. Our focus on safety, values and our Product Stewardship Program (PSP) efforts all played a role in the selection of Unifrax as one of the annual winners in the general excellence category.

Executive Vice President and COO, Duncan Yardley, congratulated the Western New York manufacturing employees, and all of the Unifrax global manufacturing employees and facilities all around the world for this achievement and recognition.
