Unifrax now hold A60 approvals for 4mm thick aluminium divisions.

FyreWrap LT Marine Blankets provide lightweight solutions for a wide range of fire rated divisions in the shipbuilding industry. We now hold A60 approvals for 4mm thick aluminium bulkheads and decks, which are specifically designed for protecting Luxury Yachts and Fast Craft against spread of fire.

FyreWrap LT A60 solutions for 4mm aluminium bulkheads and decks are based on one blanket grade only – Thickness 55mm, Density 70kg/m3. Design and installation is simple, as the blanket is easily wrapped around the stiffeners following the profile of the aluminum structure.

With the lightweight FyreWrap LT Blanket in conjunction with the 4mm plate, the total weight of the construction is significantly less compared with the standard 6mm plate systems. This can lead to an increase in speed potential as well as savings on the running costs from the improved vessel efficiency.

FyreWrap and FyreWrap LT Marine Blankets provide lightweight solutions for a wide range of fire rated divisions in the shipbuilding industry. Unifrax have recently released a new range of A60 approvals for steel bulkheads and decks, which are specifically designed for protecting Cruise Liners and other steel vessels against spread of fire.

The FyreWrap blanket lightweight fire divisions (in 64 and 96 kg/m³ density), along with the FyreWrap LT blanket systems (in 48 kg/m³ density)  have been tested to the 2010 IMO FTP code and provide some of the lightest and thinnest A60 steel bulkhead and deck systems available today.

With up to 50% insulation weight savings, when compared with existing systems, significant vessel weight reduction can be achieved. This leads to savings on the running costs from reduced fuel consumption and improved vessel efficiency.

Other features include new “simple to install” system designs that require minimal cutting and incorporate a reduced number of fixing pins. The blankets are then easily wrapped to corrugated or stiffened plate profiles, offering fast installation and a lower overall system cost.
